Kansas Insurance Certificate

Secure your future with a career in the insurance industry

The Kansas Insurance Department and the Kansas Insurance Education Foundation have established an insurance certificate for college students at Kansas universities. This certificate, along with a college degree, can help insure a career for graduates.

Achieving the certificate is a 3-step process. First, college students would take an introduction to insurance course. For the next two classes, they would take online courses from one of the participating universities. The colleges participating are Washburn University, Fort Hays State University, University of Kansas Edwards Campus, and Johnson County Community College. Kansas State University will participate starting in 2017. The third step would be an internship or a third course.

Several insurance companies have already agreed to offer a better beginning salary to new employees who have earned the insurance certificate. The program provides a unique opportunity to start ahead in a rewarding career.
