Article 3. Fire and Casualty Insurance

40-3-1 Insurance companies; capital, surplus and deposit requirements.

A certificate of authority shall not be issued or renewed with respect to companies writing insurance specified in K.S.A. chapter 40, articles 9, 11, 12 and 16, without compliance with the applicable Kansas capital, surplus, and deposit requirements pertaining to each type of insurance written by the company in any state or country. The company shall comply with the Kansas requirements regardless of the fact the company is not authorized to write each type of insurance in Kansas
