Exchange Planning Work Groups
Volunteers from civic, industry and governmental groups are now working with staff from the Kansas Insurance Department to discuss how to implement a state-based health benefits exchange that would meet requirements of the federal health reform law.
There are eight work groups chaired by volunteers outside the department who are working on the various aspects of establishing a Kansas exchange. The work group activities will be posted on this site as they are available.
How to use this site
This site provides work group members, chairs, steering committee members and the public with current information on meetings and documents used and created in the planning process. Work group chairs may send documents for posting to ACAExchange@ksinsurance.org or provide to staff working with the group.
On this homepage a calendar is provided listing the next scheduled meeting of each exchange planning group. Click on each work group or committee on the left and a new page will be displayed with a calendar showing all scheduled upcoming meetings for the group. Locations will be added when known and conference call details will be provided where available. All meetings are open to the public.
Click on the work group or committee on the left to view documents and web links posted for or by the group. In the upper part of the page the group’s charter and membership can be found. Read the charter for full details about the group’s purpose, questions the group will discuss and recommendations to be made. A template is included to format work group recommendations.
In the bottom half of the page, a content management system is provided for managing group documents and web links of any type. Click column headers to sort documents by type, description, optional meeting date reference or upload date.
Most documents on this site are in pdf format, which require a free reader to view.
